About Us

What Is Brave Feelings Lab?

A thoughtful, parent-trusted resource for helping children understand and navigate the full range of their emotional experience.

Our Mission

Built for Children. Trusted by Parents.

Brave Feelings Lab exists because children deserve more than "just calm down." They deserve real tools — gentle, age-appropriate experiences that help them understand what they're feeling, why it's happening, and what they can actually do about it.

We build carefully structured emotional learning programs that are warm, honest, and grounded in how children actually think. Not clinical. Not preachy. Just genuinely helpful.

Our programs are designed for the home — for parents and children to use together, or for children to explore on their own. Every experience is crafted to be approachable, engaging, and developmentally appropriate for ages 4–12.

💛

Children feel everything.

Joy, anger, sadness, fear, embarrassment, overwhelm — children experience the full weight of these emotions, often without the language or skills to work through them. Brave Feelings Lab gives them both.

The Problem We're Solving

Why Children Struggle with Big Emotions

Understanding this is the foundation of everything we build.

🧩

They Lack the Words

Children often can't name what they're feeling, which makes it nearly impossible to manage it. Emotional vocabulary is a learned skill — one that requires intentional teaching.

Their Brains Are Still Developing

The parts of the brain responsible for emotional regulation aren't fully developed until early adulthood. Children aren't being difficult — they're working with underdeveloped tools.

🔄

Without Tools, They React

Without coping strategies, children do the only thing they know: react. Tantrums, shutdowns, avoidance, outbursts — these are symptoms of missing skills, not bad character.

💡

The Good News

Emotional coping skills can be learned. With the right language, tools, and practice, children can develop the ability to recognize, understand, and manage their emotions — and those skills stay with them for life. That's exactly what Brave Feelings Lab is designed to help with.

Our Approach

How Our Programs Help

Each Brave Feelings Lab program is built around three pillars: understanding, language, and action.

🔍

Understand the Feeling

Children first learn what a specific emotion is, where it comes from, and why it happens. Understanding removes fear and confusion.

💬

Name It Accurately

Emotional vocabulary gives children power over their feelings. When they can name what's happening, they can begin to work with it instead of against it.

🛠️

Use Real Tools

Every program provides practical, age-appropriate coping strategies children can actually use — in the moment, in real life, on their own.

Two Ways to Start

Brave Feelings Lab offers two distinct types of programs — and understanding the difference helps you choose the right fit for your child.
